If there is one thing I have learned from raising money for Tony and the ALS Association of Arizona is that there are amazing people out in the world. I think people inherently want something to believe in and genuinely care for those who are stricken with horrible diseases like ALS.
It is also surprising to me the number of people whose lives have been touched or impacted in some way by ALS. It's just not something you bring up to friends, colleagues or family members. You would think that a disease with no cure would get a little more attention.
I'm getting pretty excited (and a little scared) about running 100 miles for Tony. While I'm completely jazzed at the idea of raising $2,700 (via the Hom 100), the idea that it gets combined with the other $15,500 we've raised directly with the ALS Association is pretty overwhelming and awesome all at the same time.
I have a number of neighbor and running friends who have committed to drop in and run with me during the wee hours of the night. I can guarantee it's going to be awesome-tastic.
Additional details will be posted should anything change.
